Tunnelling Association of Canada 2016 Annual Conference

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to welcome all participants to the 24th National Conference of the Tunnelling Association of Canada - TAC 2016 Ottawa. This conference is held every two years in various locations throughout Canada, and this year we are excited to be in our Nation’s capital - Ottawa.

The conference theme Capitalizing on Underground Infrastructure reflects TAC’s commitment to promote the importance and value of tunnelling and underground space to the built form of our cities.

The conference will be opened by Mr. Steven Cripps, Director of Ottawa’s Rail Implementation Office, who will provide an overview of the planning and procurement process for the engineering design and construction of Ottawa’s $2.1B Confederation Line LRT, schedule to open in 2018.

From the technical sessions to the social events to the technical tour of Ottawa’s Confederation Line, we hope everyone will have the chance to meet with friends and colleagues in the tunnelling industry. TAC 2016 Ottawa also features a trade exhibition of tunnelling construction equipment, products and services, and firms involved in our business. The organizing committee extends a heartfelt thank you to the many sponsoring companies and exhibitors, without whom this event would not be possible.

Finally, we would like to also recognize the efforts of the members of the volunteer organizing committee and the TAC Officers and Directors who have worked diligently for many months to make this conference a success.

Have a great National Conference and enjoy Ottawa!
